NOT compact!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
It is always difficult for me to judge the size of things online. But since this was called 'compact' I thought it would be about 12 inches or so long and about an inch or so in diameter. The thing is HUGE and heavy and hard to use on yourself. You really need a massage therapist or someone else to hold it and direct its massaging action onto your muscles -- especially if the sore places are on your back. But it has good power, and I like the multiple settings and the ability to add heat for the really stubborn knots.

not enough power
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
It's bulky and not near powerful enough. Just buy a magic wand and you'll be happier.

Fire Hazard!!!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased this product a year or so ago. A few months back my 15 y/o son called me to say he smelled something burning in the house. He walked into the livingroom and found the unit (plugged in but not turned on) was smoking and the carpet was on fire beneath it. It's clear that the heating element burned through the side of the unit. I sent it to Conair with pieces of the carpet still melted to it, asking them to replace the unit, to please reimburse me for the damaged carpeting and to consider a recall as obviously this was a defective product. They refused to do anything and told me to "take it to the local small claims court". I will NEVER buy another Conair product.
